Minister Winnie Moraa
Faith, music and empowerment — and a working life spent arguing that the two belong together.
Winfridah Moraa Nyakwara, known to most as Winnie Moraa and to her listeners as Winnie Unveiled, is a born-again gospel music minister, an international human rights lawyer, an entrepreneur and a leadership coach.
She came to faith at fourteen. The music started earlier than that, in Sunday school at Kaloleni Baptist Church in Kisumu, and the first song she calls her own arrived while she was a student at Limuru Girls High School. More than three hundred songs have come since. She intends to release every one of them.

The music
By January 2025 she had put out eighteen original songs and two covers across YouTube and the streaming platforms. The debut album Mwaminifu came first. Grace & Mercy, recorded live, followed.
She does not treat the catalogue as finished. The songs she has been given outnumber the songs she has released many times over, and releasing them is the assignment she describes as obedience rather than ambition.
The law
Winnie has spent more than fifteen years working in human rights across several countries. The work is about justice and social change: representing people whose rights have been set aside, and pressing for the systems around them to change rather than simply winning one case at a time.
She does not treat this as separate from the ministry. The songs and the casework point at the same thing from different directions.
Business and mentoring
She is chief executive of three companies: Unveiled Royalty Events, Unveiled Royalty Cleaning Services, and UR Fashion House.
Alongside them she coaches leaders, and through the Royal Voices Global Foundation she runs a mentorship programme that pairs aspiring musicians with people who have already walked the road.
The assignment
Three hundred songs were given. Releasing them is not ambition. It is obedience.
